About

Hello I’m Zara.

Growing up I struggled with neuro diversity and visual impairment which presented challenges in navigating  world. Attending Stainer school helped me to move forward so that I could achieve mainstream education later on. I always loved to sing and was encouraged to pursue my gift in using my voice. I obtained a BA (Hons) degree in music, and won many singing competitions along the way.

My career path always led me towards helping people, and although I moved away from the musical side of my life, I worked for people with visual impairment as I understood  what this was like to live with. I always wanted to have some link to using my musical ability but mainstream was not for me. In 2009 I found my outlet through a sound healing experience day I attended. It had a deep resonance for me so I made the decision to pursue the two-year diploma course to become a sound healer.

The sound healing led on to learning other therapies as I realised it was helping me to achieve a deeper level of calm and wellbeing for myself. Other experiences were also starting to surface, these were deeply spiritual and profound. Vivid dreams were leading me to further my spiritual journey. After attending courses in the shamanic way of life, it furthered my own healing journey and after moving to Devon in 2015 I made the commitment to live and train in the ways of shamanic living and healing.

This has not just been profoundly magical, it has also been challenging, but through that challenge, has given me tools that have helped hugely in dealing with my neuro diversity on a daily basis. I started to realise that neuro diversity and visual impairment are my super powers and not disabilities that hinder me. Through my own experiences and challenges, I realised that I can help others deeply because of my own lived experience and heightened intuition.

Sound Therapy

I have a wide musical background. I graduated with a BA (Hons) Musical degree at Colchester Institute. My main interest was performing, so, after singing for 2 years with the BBC Symphony Chorus, winning awards at music festivals in Cheltenham, Llangollen and Kingston upon Thames I moved on to expand my interests in using music for healing and therapy.

Shamanic Healing

I have been exploring and developing the practice of Shamanic Healing for many years. The process is fluid and diverse, so can also be incorporated with the use of sound alongside the teachings of native peoples that have passed down methods used to heal mind, body and spirit. I use a range of tools, including Mantra tuning forks and the Shamanic Drum.
