My Experience With Lomi Lomi Massage.

So my journey began in February this Year when I went on an introduction experience day in Exeter to learn more about Lomi Lomi massage. I have to say, it blew me away. It was such a beautiful and sacred experience that I decided to take the full 4 day course in Glastonbury in November this year, and if I thought my first experience was special, this was even better. I knew it was going to be a special and spiritual experience but honestly, it exceeded my expectations even then.

On the one day course in February, I realised that the teacher was channelling and working in a shamanic way through the methods of Lomi lomi massage. I didn't expect him to treat me but through his demonstration to the other participants, he clearly realised that I needed some attention and so acted on his intuition. It was deep and profound. I realised that I could extend my shamanic healing practices and learn the Lomi Lomi method as an extension of my treatment offerings.

On the full 4 day course, we went through our own healing journeys alongside the teaching methods through the use of breath work, sematic breathing, constellation work, yin yoga and deep ceremony. It was also about releasing our own stuff so that we could be clear vessels in order to both give and receive Lomi Lomi massage. Using this method, it is all about surrendering to our own healing, self love and recognising our true light.

Lomi Lomi is an Hawaiian tradition which is not just about giving a beautiful relaxing massage, it is also about a healing journey which enables the client and potential practitioner to release deep seated stuff which is no longer needed. The Hawaiian people believe that we are all born with a clear bowl of light, i.e. our soul. during our life time/s we gather stones = mental and emotional baggage which make us heavy and dim this divine light which was given to us from source. We then spend some years clearing these stones and lomi lomi massage done in the way it is, helps us in this process.

I can only say that it was like giving and receiving massage in a temple, because of the intent behind it. I have never felt lighter from physical tension for a long time and I felt utter freedom and release from heaviness. I felt that I walked in a globe of light of weeks later, that is how powerful it was for me. I have done a lot of shadow work especially over the last 2 years and some of my release on the course was the last remanence of stuff that was on the surface waiting to be completely released. Tears were never something that came easily to me but in the space we were all held, I surrendered myself to the process. I also saw my own inner beauty, and when i say this, it is not a vain statement. We are all brought up to be very self critical in our western culture and often don't see ourselves as beautiful beings, but we are, this is what I saw and felt during my time on those 4 days.

I will be offering this in Ilfracombe in the new year so watch this space for further announcements.
